Delivering Quality Driver Training
Part 2: Practical Driving Test
The Part 2 test closely resembles the current car-driving test for learners in format and content. However, the eyesight test requires you to see a number plate at a slightly longer distance (i.e. 27.5 metres or 26.5 metres depending on the width of the lettering), the duration of the test is longer to allow you to undertake all the set manoeuvres and you are expected to perform to a higher standard. Unlike the L test, you are only permitted a maximum of 6 minor driving faults and what constitutes a minor driving fault may be more harshly assessed.
Training can be in your own or trainer’s car and is charged at £30 / Hour with sessions lasting two hours.
The first session comprises of a one hour assessment drive followed by a ten to fifteen minute debrief highlighting both your strengths and areas for development in the following areas.
• Car Control
• Road Procedures
• Attitude
• Concentration
The remainder of the session will be taken up by your trainer using the core competencies of Identification, Analysis and remedial to address the most pressing of the areas requiring development.
This will be done by Explanation, Demonstration and Practice. You will then be given a program of private practice to complete before your next training session where this area will be reassessed and, if significant improvement has been achieved, the next topic will be addressed in the above manner.
This process of Identification, Analysis and remedial and Explanation, Demonstration and Practice, forms the basis of the training you will in future deliver to your pupils and it is this that will be tested in the part three examination.
This system of training for part two ensures that when you arrive for your first part three training session you already have a grasp of theses basic skills.
Part two training typically involves between 10 and 20 hours of training to fully prepare you for the part two test.
Part 2 training is paid for session by session at a rate of £30 / Hour. We believe that if our training is not up to standard we don’t deserve your continuing custom and you can walk away and spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.
Success Stories
“I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Alan just at the right time, as I had been with a previous trainer who was not in the same league. If you are looking for an honest, and hard working trainer who gives the best possible training, then I would have no hesitation in recommending Alan. I would like to thank him for his instruction and also helping me pass my ADI Part 3 Test first time. “
