Delivering Quality Driver Training
About Scotishdrivers.co.uk
Alan Rennie is married with three grown up children and one granddaughter who he and his wife Liz do their level best to spoil rotten. He supports his home town team of Motherwell football club but these days rarely gets to see them, which probably saves him a lot of heartache.
He enjoys pottering about in the garden where he keeps fish in a small pond. Some of these have grown to fish supper proportions but up to now he has resisted the temptation.
Alan has worked in the driver training industry for sixteen years, joining a then small but what was soon to grow into the biggest regional driving school in Scotland. He spent seven years managing an office where his responsibilities included supervising and supporting more than thirty franchised instructors and four ORDIT trainers. Much of his time was taken up training trainee instructors and developing the talents of newly qualified instructors and he has been on the ORDIT register for five years achieving the maximum Grade 6 on his latest ORDIT check Test in February 2009. He is also a DSA Registered Fleet Driver Trainer. Over the last couple of years his primary responsibilities have been in managing and coordinating LGV and PCV training.
Throughout, he continued to work with a limited number of pupils, usually those requiring that little bit extra help. This has ensured that he maintained hands on experience with learner drivers.
In September 2009 Alan’s association with the company ended and he set up scottishdrivers.co.uk and has taken up a franchise with the AA Driving School and is back doing what he does and enjoys best, teaching people to drive. He is also, independently of the franchise continuing to provide Instructor Training throughout the central belt.
His association with the AA Driving School will be of no surprise with those who know and have worked with him over the years, as his commitment to achieving and maintaining high standards of instruction and customer service are a good fit with the reputation and philosophy of the AA Brand.
Another benefit of the association with the AA, is that it allows him to continue to develop the instructor training side of the business. The AA positively encourages instructors to take the initiative and develop their own pupil base and to offer their own incentives and discounts packages, a task that he has set about with relish.
So do not hesitate to contact him if you feel that he can be of assistance with anything regarding learning to drive or instructor training.
