Part 1 Theory & Hazard Perception £100

Home Study Pack including all DSA  Recommended Reading Material & Telephone and email support.

Test Fee £90

 

Part 2 Practical Driving Test £30 / Hour

Delivered in 2 Hour Sessions, typically 10 to 20 Hours (£300 to £600) to fully prepare for test.

Part 3 Test of Ability to Instruct £30 / Hour

Delivered in 2 Hour Sessions, typically 40 to 60 Hours (£1,200 to £1,800) to fully prepare for test.

Registration as an ADI £300

You must register with the DSA as a Qualified ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) before you are can teach pupils for reward.  Registration is for a period of four years and must be renewed at the end of this period if you intend to continue to work as an ADI  

 

You must pass parts 1,2 & 3 in turn. You can have unlimited attempts at Part 1. From the date you Pass Part 1, you have two years in which to pass parts 2 and 3. You are allowed only 3 attempts at part 2 and 3. Should you use up all 3 attempts on any of these tests or have not passed part 3 within the two years, your registration as a PDI (Potential Driving Instructor) will lapse and you would require to sit all 3 tests again.
