Drive Smart – Improve Your Driving Safety and Fuel Efficiency

If you're already a qualified driver who would like refresher training in driving safety, and you'd like to save money by improving fuel efficiency, have a look at The AA’s new Drive Smart initiative.

 

How Drive Smart works

 

Drive Smart is open to any qualified driver, and consists of a minimum of two hours in-car lessons and instructor guidance and feedback, plus study with an accompanying Drive Smart workbook.

 

• First book your first hour lesson at least a week in advance.
• Complete your pre-lesson workbook exercises to help you during your first lesson.
• Take the first in-car lesson with your instructor.
• Practice the techniques you've learned from the workbook exercises and the first lesson.
• Take your second in-car lesson, using the techniques you've learned.
• Book more Drive Smart lessons if you think you can benefit.

• Learn how you can change your driving style to save fuel – and money
• Fuel-efficient drivers will minimise their impact on the environment

Free Drive Smart training available

 

The AA Drive Smart Charity was set up to help new drivers who have passed their test in the past year, and who have had an accident of licence penalty points during that time.

There are still places being assigned to these drivers. Find our more about 'at risk' drivers who may be eligible to receive free Drive Smart lessons.
